As everyone knows, May 28th was an extremely hot day. Our tent was near the water, at the Finish Line, so afforded somewhat of a breeze to temper the heat. The Duck Cupcakes were very popular - we sold them for $1.00 each and out of the 40 available only 8 of them committed suicide by heat stroke - in other words their heads and beaks fell off, or I should say slid off. You had to have been there to hear Joan call out to passersby "Buck a Duck", there were some strange looks from people that didn't quite catch the phrase. A lot of people stopped by to chat, unfortuneately, there were no sales other than the cupcakes.

A photographer from Shap'd took a close-up picture of one of the Duck Cupcakes, hopefully it will be printed in the next copy of the magazine. The rain held off long enough to get the tent down, which was hillarious, there were five of us one on each corner and one underneath. People at the next booth were shouting encouragement - it must have been hillarious. By 3:45 pm the rain chased everyone home. Thanks to my booth mates, Joan, Julie V., Doug, Debbie, Leah and Mannie.

Duck Day Correspondent, over and out.

About Equiart 2015:

The arrival of the Equestrian Games portion of the 2015 PanAm Games in the Headwaters Area is a once in a lifetime opportunity for local artists to displayed and sell equestrian themed art to visitors from all across the Americas.

The Dufferin Arts Council will conduct a juried art show of equestrian art from July 11-25, 2015, across multiple venues. Some two dimensional artwork will be displayed on the walls of 7 fine dining restaurants in the area. The remaining works plus all three dimensional art will be displayed in a pop-up art gallery to be determined.
